Also located in Boca Raton, about 30 minutes by charter bus from Pompano Beach, Lynn University is a private liberal arts college with a small student body of around 2,000 students. Lynn is focused on interactive learning, with a 11:1 student-faculty ratio.

Florida Memorial University is a private HBCU located about 15 minutes northwest of Pompano Beach in Miami Gardens. FMU has an enrollment of around 1,100 students. The school offers undergraduate and graduate programs spanning 39 academic majors.
